Individual Notes
• Lived all her life in Marysville and died in Detroit when she was in school there.
95• Hally B. Mills, youngest daughter of Nelson Mills, of Marysville, died in Harper’s hospital, Detroit, at 8 o’clock Sunday evening after an illness of 10 days. While attending school at the Detroit seminary she was threatened with appendicitis and was removed to the hospital for the purpose of operation if necessary, under the care of Dr. H. O. Walker and Dr. Jennings. The appendicitis symptoms soon subsided, but a vague and more serious complication arose in the form of what was finally pronounced Graves’ disease, affecting the heart and nervous system, rapidly undermining her strength. She rallied for a few days until Saturday night, when she began to fail very fast. Dr. Treadgold was called from Port Huron several times in consultation, and was present with her father, sister and brothers at the end. Detroit specialists had also been in consultation, but were baffled in the effort to locate the trouble and its treatment until too late. Miss Mills had attended the Detroit seminary for three years devoting much of her time to the study of drawing, in which she showed marked natural ability, her ambition being to become an artist in that line. he was 15 years of age, of lovely character and disposition, and was much loved by her associates who in losing a friend also lost one who much loved them. The remains were brought home Monday afternoon, and the funeral will be held from the family residence at Marysville Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock.
