• I’m sorry but we don’t find him here except for the 1880 census. We checked the 1885 and 1895 census, death records, probate records and cemetery records as well as marriage records from 1883 through 1921.
748• The estate of the late Barney Mills cannot be closed until the heirs of the late Hance Mills, brother of Barney Mills, can be located. The Hance Mills family went west several years ago and has not been heard from since. It is not known how many heirs are left.
749• Hance Mills parted from his first wife in 1876. The couple had three children, Addie, Anna and George. The two latter are still living. Anna at Opdyke, Ill., and George at Rochester, N. Y. These he took with him and located at Morristown, Minn., later going to Iowa, and thence to South Dakota, where in 1883 he married again. The missing Walter Mills was born to this second union.
747• Mr. H. Mills, living near Bijou Hills, in endeavoring to get his horses out of his burning barn, was severely burned about his neck, arms and side. He lay in a much suffering condition for several days, when he died.

747• [excerpts] Mrs. A. Milne, a pioneer of Bemidji, died of typhoid fever, March 1, 1902, at St. Anthony’s hospital, after a short illness. She leaves behind her a husband, two sons, and one daughter to mourn her untimely demise.
Arbilla E. Parsell was born at Plymouth, Ohio, April 24, 1852. She was married in 1870 to Peter Doty, who died in South Dakota in 1887 to which state they moved in 1883. She married Alex Milne a few years previous to their coming to Bemidji.
