• Between 1820 and 1830 Daniel McQueen (son of Peter McQueen Sr. of the town of Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland) arrived in St. Clair county. He was the husband of Catherine (nee “Lamberson”) McQueen. Daniel and Catherine’s son, Daniel Jr., married Jane Stewart, daughter of Harvey Stewart and Mary Gravereat. As you probably know, the Stewart, McQueen and Harsen families were early settlers on and around Harsen’s Island.

Names wife Maria, children Sally Whiting, Jacob, John, Nancy Robertson, Ira, Polly, Elizabeth, Katherine, son Daniel (under age 21 who is to take care of the family), and the three youngest Peter, Susan & Samuel, and Harriet Barns the daughter of my wife. Exec Samuel Ward of Cottrellville Tp., who refuses and the son John McQueen is apptd, 4 Oct 1833. The wife Maria is Maria Brown by 8 Apr 1835.
