Individual Notes
• No Mills were living in Bedford in 1710.1847

• Removed to Bedford, Westchester County, NY, by 29 September 1712.1845, p 10,1848, p 28 (old)

• Bedford Town Clerk, 1713-1728.1847, p 1,1717, p iii

• Zachariah Mills Jr. was born 1676 in Jamaica, New York. He was a sheriff in Queens County on Long Island in 1702. His first marriage to Abigail Clark about 1700 on Long Island produced three children: George, born about 1702, Andrew and Abigail.
I do not have the death date for Abigail (Zachariah’s first wife) but it must have been before Dec. 1711. Zachariah (Jr.) remarried in Bedford to Martha Miller on Dec. 31, 1711. She was born Jan. 2, 1697 (?), the daughter of John Miller Jr. (son of the original proprietor) and Mary Holmes (daughter of John Holmes Sr.)1383, p 3

• He was noted as deceased 15 Jan. 1761 and his wife/widow died 14 March 1823 (sic for 1723?). He was active in town of Bedford in a number of civil posts including that of judge of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas in 1726. He probably married Joanna ??? after 1728.1711
