• Andrew(2) Newcomb was residing in this country as early as July 1666, as at that date he attended a meeting at Isles of Shoals, near Portsmouth, N. H.
He lived many years in the village of Edgartown and owned the land upon which the Court house now stands.2808, p 2

• Mr. Newcomb appears to have removed from the Shoals about 1675, and settled same year at Edgartown, on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard, Dukes Co., Mass., where he lived till his decease which took place between Mar. 7, 1703-4 and Oct. 22, 1708, ae. about 64 to 68 years.1743, p 16

• Captain Andrew Newcomb came to America from the West of England and was living in Boston in 1663. The Newcomb family served with distinction in the Indian Wars.591, p 3

• Mr. Newcomb appears to have died without making a will, and no inventory or settlement of this estate has been found upon record.1738, p 19
