• John[1] Greene of Warwick, Rhode Island Colony, “gentleman and chiriugeon”, son of Richard and Mary (Hooker) Greene, was born at Bowridge Hill, Gillingham Parish, Dorset County, England, on February 9, 1596/7. He resided at Salisbury, Wiltshire.2574, p 66

• John Greene removed early to Sarum (Salisbury), the county town of Wiltshire, and was there married at St. Thomas’s Church, November 4, 1619, to Joanne Tattershall (or, as it was written on the church register, “Tatarsole”).2568, pp 53-4

• He emigrated to New England with his family in 1635, where he died in 1659.2568, p 40
