• His wife may be identified by the reference in the will of Thomas Bunce of Hartford, probated in 1683, which mentions his sister, Katherine Clark. The name Katherine, not common among Conn. Clarks, was bestowed upon the eldest daughter of Joseph.

• William Clark may have been the brother of Nicholas Clarke and of the Elder John Clark of Hartford. He and Nicholas were co-defendants in an early lawsuit at Hartford, and the latter had sold land in Boston on the same street as John, prior to their removal to Hartford (and to the same man).
William bought land at Hartford in 1639, and at Haddam in 1669. He died at Haddam, July 22, 1681, leaving a will
3041 mentioning his wife (name not given); sons Thomas, William, John, and Joseph; daughters ____ Wells, ____ Fenner, ____ Spencer, and Hannah; son-in-law Daniel Hubbard; and grandson Daniel Hubbard Jr.
