Samuel with his mother, brothers and sisters at Philadelphia 27 Aug 1739. He prob. was just a little past his 16th birthday, as he was considered of military age (16 and over) and required to sign the Oath of Loyalty to the English King as well as the Oath of Abjuration, swearing that he would not support any of the Pretenders to the English Throne. He lived with his mother on her farm prob. until he was married.
