• Mr. Bergin, who is connected with a bonding concern of Toledo, is said to be slated for the managership of a local brokerage company when offices are opened here in the near future.
814• Any info on him? None -- disappeared around 1928.
818• I just remembered that they used to call Blackie’s brother “Whitey” and their dad “RED”...
So Alec is Uncle Blackies dad... let me pass this along.

Individual Notes
• Mrs. Bergin, whose father is secretary-treasurer of the Lansing Cast Stone Co., has been prominently identified with he social affairs of the younger set in Lansing.
814• Dear Gretchen and David
I’ll write on this sheet rather than on the card as I know from past experiences how my poor penmanship can deface a pretty card.
You were
most thoughtful and sweet to send me the baby announcement and you’ll never know how much I appreciate hearing from you and how thrilled I was by your news. I hope that both Mother and son are doing well!! I’m glad that there is to be another Nelson Mills. I’m also partial to the name David because of my Dear “Uncle Dave.”
Tomorrow I plan to get some blue yarn and start a sweater for little Nelson. I’m sure that now he has all of the infant things that a baby will need. So I will make a size one or size two sweater for him, and I will be sure that it will fit in case I am a bit slow.
Congratulations, best wishes and my love,
Hally

Marriage Notes
• The young couple took matters in their own hands Saturday, and eloped to Toledo, where it is believed the ceremony was performed, as no record of the issuance of a marriage license in Lansing can be obtained, and several clergymen interviewed, had no knowledge of the wedding.
The young couple are at the Downty hotel.
