• Listed in 1838, Portage County with guardian, George Babcock, whose father-in-law was Paul Williams. Also listed are Calista Babcock and her sister, Sarah.1544, p 34-16
• Paul Williams himself died sometime before I came to Akron 64 years ago [thus 1835]. At that time his widow (second wife, I think) was living in the old homestead (still standing) and with her were living a pair of twin granddaughters who had been orphaned by the early death of both of their parents. Their names were Adaline and Emeline Williams. Emeline Williams never married and is still living with her niece, I think, in Rahway, N. J.1547, p 4
• Miss Emeline Williams died at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Charles M. Phillips on Western avenue, Wednesday, after suffering a stroke of apoplexy. Miss Williams had been living with her niece for the past twenty-two years. At one period of her life she was employed in the dead letter office at Washington. She was a few days short of being eighty-nine years old. Her father built the first house in Akron, Ohio, and Miss Williams lived in that city before coming to Morristown. Funeral services were held at the residence of Mrs. Phillips Tuesday afternoon and the interment at Akron.3160
