Ellicott City is situated right over the county line and at that time you could obtain a one day license at the court house. Couples would then walk down the hill to First Lutheran Church and the pastor would marry them in the parlor.
Witness: Mrs. I. Wegner. We assume that “Mrs. I. Wegner” was the wife of the pastor as she was a witness at a lot of weddings!
